“I grew up in Cambridgeshire, England, and started building and racing boats while I was still in school. I worked for my father evenings and weekends building GRP dinghies and was Tempest National Champion. When I left school I started an apprenticeship as a boat-builder for a small family boatyard. The urge to travel then saw me teaching sailing in Greece before running my own charter yacht all through the Mediterranean and eventually working on super-yachts worldwide.
In Vancouver I met the woman who is now my wife and decided to put down some roots. Once again I ran charter boats, this time for other people, before getting involved with the local 6mR fleet. It soon became obvious that the fleet needed a full time caretaker and I joined forces with Rainer Muller to establish Pacific 6mR Yachts.”
